one recommendation I have is after you get a question wrong, it tells you its wrong and gives an explanation to why its wrong but it disappears too fast. If you could make it last longer or have have us click something to move on that would be great. :)
Thanks for the quick response! (Replying again, because I did it on mobile. I don't think it went through.)
I am able to figure out case based on word ending when I read it. However, if I have to generate the sentence myself, I have a hard time figuring out the difference between some A and DL. For example: u and na can exist in sentences that contain A ending, like "Idem u školu". So it becomes confusing.
Interesting. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWas actually going to recommend adding something like this in here. It is very helpful, Thanks you. :)
ReplyDeleteI will make another such a quiz soon, with basic cases of adjectives, and then with G and I of nouns. Lp

ReplyDeleteThanks for everything!
This is a good idea, I will have to modify the script.
DeleteI still have a very hard time telling accusative apart from dative/locative. Is there a basic rule of thumb? Thank you! Your site is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteDL is used for three things:
Delete- recipent (with verbs like send, give...)
- a person as a destination (with verbs like go, run...)
- with prepositions u and na to express location.
Does this help? Or you have trouble RECOGNIZING if the form e.g. školu is A or DL?
Thanks for the quick response!

Of course, since the meanings are different.
DeleteTrčim u školi. (DL) = I'm running in school. (I'm there, and running)
Trčim u školu. (A) = I'm running to school. (I'm not there yet)
It will take some time to start thinking in these categories. Are you somewhere else, and just trying to get there? Then use u or na + A.
Otherwise, use u or na + DL.
Is it clearer a bit?
lp
Ahh. That is clear now. Thank you!
DeleteBTW that's clearly explained in the chapter #6 Destinations since it's a quite basic distinction in Croatian. Maybe it should be repeated later?

Yes, but for some reason it didn't sink in right away. Thanks Daniel.
DeleteThis was Great! I need all the practice I can get. This really helps.
