That's quite common with any measures (like tisuću ljudi) You can read about it here: http://www.easy-croatian.com/2014/11/46.html

But if you Google for "godina dana je prošla" you'll see it's also used:

https://joomboos.24sata.hr/prvi/godina-dana-je-prosla-od-odlaska-velikog-olivera-dragojevica-12943

https://dnevnik.hr/vijesti/hrvatska/maleni-amar-u-kontejnerskom-naselju-je-prohodao-a-demir-se-u-izbjeglistvu-rodio---385001.html

https://story.hr/Celebrity/a117535/Prosla-je-godina-dana-od-smrti-Olivera-Dragojevica.html

If you Google:

"godina dana je prošla" site:hr = 1300 hits
"godinu dana je prošlo" site:hr = 7000 hits

So it seems adverbs are 5 times more common, so I might update this example to a more common expression. But it's weird someone finds godina dana je... "wrong". It IS used.Daniel N.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14585410511935134909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5891322149855073246.post-79220072734414102982022-02-03T03:10:31.112+01:002022-02-03T03:10:31.112+01:00hey my croatian friend pointed out that "godi...hey my croatian friend pointed out that "godina dana je pošla" sounded wrong to them, they'd say "pošlo je godinu dana" instead.
